Finally Goal-line technology approved by FIFA’s
lawmaking panel on Thursday. This can solve human error. The goal-line
technology will first be introduce at December’s Fifa Club World Cup and if
successful, at the 2013 Confederations Cup and 2014 World Cup. This system
excepted to price up to $250,000 per stadium.
This technology called as
Hawk-Eye system and works by 6 cameras to track the ball on the pitch and goal
post. The system software uses to pinpoint the exact location of the ball. And
if ball crosses the goal-line an radio signal is sent to the referee’s
wristwatch to a goal has been scored. This whole process takes less than a
second to complete. Already this system used in cricket and tennis. Hawk-Eye
system owned by Sony.
