When it comes to the community of those who shop online regularly, the majority fail to check whether better deals are available in other websites. However, when a friend or colleague buys the same product at a lower rate, it makes them regret! Evidently, the reason why the majority fail to do that is the tedium of visiting different shopping sites and even while doing so, people do not often know about other noteworthy eCommerce sites. Nevertheless, an app for your Android Smartphone has come with a solution for this confusion of selecting the best shopping site. Giving a reflection of what it aims, the app is named LowPrice and we are here with a review of the Android app.
LowPrice — What It is & What It Does
Basically, LowPrice is a completely free Android app that works as a companion for every online shopper out there; it may be electronics or books that you are looking for and LowPrice will be there to help you. LowPrice lets you create a comparison of different online shopping websites based on the price of same product. For instance, if you’re trying to purchase Sea of Poppies [the book written by Amitav Ghosh], Amazon, Flipkart and other ecommerce sites will be offering the book for different prices. And, there might even be some websites that are way too cheaper. LowPrice is useful in the sense that it shows a page that lists online shopping sites with price. So, you will be able to know which website you should purchase the book from.
It has to be noted that the page of LowPrice is not limited to Amazon and Flipkart but extends to several eCommerce sites that relatively less popular. In addition, LowPrice app has a lot of additional features, some of which we will talk about as we move on with our review. As of now, there are seven shopping categories to choose from, including the popular ones like Electronics, Books and Clothes. We hope it’s enough for an intro and we’ll move to other aspects of LowPrice.
Installing & Using LowPrice
Despite those productive features we mentioned, LowPrice weighs only 9MB; and, you can download it from Google Play Store in a few seconds or minutes at maximum. Once installed, you can see the home page that has a search bar and grid-based listing of exciting deals. To find the product you are looking for, you can use the search bar. Or, if you need a category-based search, you can do that from the sidebar. As we said earlier, in each product page, there will be a list of available online shops, including the not-so-much-popular ones. You can choose cheapest — and perhaps, the reliability too — one from list and you will be redirected to the corresponding app page or browser based on the choice. In our experience, LowPrice supported redirection to Flipkart app but not the Amazon one. As far as a typical online shopper is concerned, the process is so simple, we believe.
Even before we really used LowPrice android app, its User Interface attracted us — for it was Material Design where its base lies. With a sidebar that shows different categories of purchase when dragged, a search bar that lets users to perform search on the entire directory of LowPrice and a home page that gives enough information about noticeable deals, LowPrice has brought one of the best UI. Talking about content part of the app, individual pages of products have enough information, arranged in an easily accessible manner. For instance, there are three tabs in each product page — Details, Spec and Reviews. Considering all these, User Interface aspect of LowPrice is quite impressive in the sense that it is clutter-free, easy to understand and good-looking with a yellowish gradient in background.
Other Sense-Making Features
Apart from comparing different online stores when it comes to a particular product, there is an option to compare a product with another too. We tried comparing Apple Macbook Air and an HP Notebook — as illogical as it may sound — and the results were impressive enough. The app creates two columns, in which it lists specifications of both the selected products. The design is quite impressive when you want to do a quick comparison.
Favourite List & Sharing
Two of the other features of LowPrice we loved are the options to favourite product for later viewing as well as some integrated sharing options. While the Favourite button lets you shortlist product when you are trying to find the best from list, sharing option will let you tell about great deals to your friends. Both these are great when we talk from an online shopper’s perspective. And, belonging to the same community, we loved those features.
Considering all these sections, we can but give a five-star rating to this ultra-smooth Android app that works as a sort of essential companion for every online shopper! Particularly, we loved the product comparison section and the use of material design. And we are sure of one thing — you’ll all love this app!
